The Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Scholarship Program was launched by Gov. Nathan Deal in 2012 and is a needs-based mentorship and scholarship program designed to encourage students, starting in middle school, to persist in their educational pursuits. Students are provided with the academic, social and financial support needed to graduate from high school, attend college, achieve post-secondary success and be prepared for the 21st century workforce.

REACH's goal is to have all 180 school systems in Georgia become REACH partners and serve over 3,000 Scholars by the 2020-2021 school year. The Bibb County School District joined the Governor's effort with a 5-year commitment to REACH in 2016. Gov. Deal was in attendance for the celebration of Bibb's inaugural class of eight REACH Scholars at the William S. Hutchings College and Career Academy. Local partners who have acknowledged the importance of preparing Georgia's students for post-secondary success and joining the workforce, and who have pledged support to REACH, include Central Georgia Technical College and MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union.
