Remind Communication Platform

The Bibb County School District uses the Remind platform as a school communication tool for teachers, parents and administrators in all District schools.

PARENTS
Update your contact information in Parent Portal to receive messages and notifications from Bibb County School District and your child's school. Make sure to put your cell phone number in the "Other" category in Parent Portal. Remind uses cell phone numbers listed in the "Other" category to contact parents. Once your information is updated in Parent Portal, you should begin receiving messages from your child's school as soon as the next message is sent.

Take the next step and download the Remind app to your phone by searching for "Remind" in the Apple store or Google store.

Missing messages? Sometimes parents may only be receiving messages from one teacher and missing messages from the school. This could be a sign that the parent has more than one Remind account. CLICK HERE for instructions on merging accounts.

EMPLOYEES
Remind has provided several TRAINING RESOURCES for teachers and staff.

CLICK HERE for school administrator and teacher instructions on logging into your Remind account.

Important Notes for Teachers and Staff:

-Teachers and staff are expected to use District platforms and resources to contact students. There should be absolutely no texting student cell phones or messaging students on social media platforms.

-Need to claim your classes? CLICK HERE for instructions.

-Remind will continue to update as schedules change. Be flexible and patient. Schools and teachers should NOT create new classes while waiting on rosters to be updated.

-SUPPORT: If you are a teacher and you cannot see your classes in Remind, CLICK HERE for BossDesk Ticket Support. You may also log into BossDesk Ticket Support through ClassLink. Search for BossDesk Tickets. Then click on Service Catalogue to place a ticket under Technology Request.

-Do NOT send out class codes. This causes duplicate accounts, which leads to parents/students missing messages. It also means contact information is NOT being updated in Infinite Campus (IC). Direct parents to update contact information in Parent PortalParent contact information in Infinite Campus should include the cell phone number in both the cell phone field and the "Other" field.

-If you have never logged into Remind before, you'll need to Set Up Your Account:
You'll have an email from Remind in your BCSD email - it may be in your Junk folder and it may be several weeks old. If you can't find the email, go to Remind.com on a desktop/laptop and use your BCSD email to log in. You may need to create a password or use the link to say you forgot your password to have it automatically send you an email to set up or reset a password.

-If you're seeing old classes, you can Archive a Class.

-If you don't see any students, you may need to Claim Your Rostered Class.

-Add a Co-Teacher to Your Class.
**Be sure to select the TEACHER tab, and be sure to use the teacher's BCSD email address!
Once added, Make the Teacher a Co-Owner of the Class.

-Many issues occur if a teacher has more than 1 account in Remind. To find out if you have more than 1 account, ask your principal to look under the PEOPLE tab for your name. If the principal sees more than 1 account for your name, you'll need to Merge Duplicate Remind Accounts

-How do I send translated messages to parents? Click here. How can I set preferred language for my class participants? Click here.

-Trying to help a parent troubleshoot? Direct them to Parent Portal to review contact information. Parent contact information in Infinite Campus should include the cell phone number in both the cell phone field and the "Other" field.

-If teachers need to create student club groups in Remind, they should send invitations only to student BCSD email addresses. Students should accept the invitation and sign in through their BCSD email account.

-Messaging a Custom List of Students/Parents: To create a custom list of students, click here. Also, at the school level, AD HOC may be used to create lists for parent groups from contact information in Infinite Campus. Talk to your Registrar about creating AD HOC lists.

-Principals will have the ability to monitor data and teacher accounts for accountability.
