Substitute Teacher Requirements

Substitute Teacher Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment in the Bibb County School District.

Applicants must possess one of the following certificates:
-Teaching Certificate (current, out-of-state, or expired); OR
-Substitute Teaching Certificate from any county or RESA in Georgia.

To register for the next substitute teaching certificate class, log onto http://www.mgresa.org/ cost of $35.00

You must possess one of the following educational requirements:
-High school diploma/GED;
-Associate's Degree or higher (in any subject) from an accredited college; OR
-Completed two years of college coursework (90 Quarter Hours or 60 Semester Hours); OR
-Passed a PSC-Approved Paraprofessional Assessment (GACE, ETS or Georgia Assessment).

Applicants must complete an on-line application with the Bibb County School District selecting Substitute Teacher.

Note:  Once all references are received, applications are eligible for review. If selected, the applicant will receive and invitation by mail to attend an orientation.
