Pre-K ONLINE Application Information

BIBB COUNTY APPLICATION PROCESS 2019-2020
Students must turn 4 before September 1, 2019.

The Bibb County School District will open Pre-Kindergarten registration for the 2019-2020 school year February 4-28. Application for the Pre-K lottery will be processed online through the District's website at www.bcsdk12.net/prekapp. Submission of the application does NOT guarantee the enrollment. Selection is based on a random computer lottery, and there is no cost to participate.

Students may attend Pre-K at their zoned neighborhood school or parents may choose to register them at one of these alternative locations: Heard Academic Magnet School, Northwoods Academy, Burdell-Hunt Magnet School, Alexander II Magnet School or Vineville Academy of the Arts. Transportation will not be provided to non-zoned schools, and parents may only register their child for one school.

Attention, families applying to Riley Elementary Pre-K:
With the consolidation of Riley Elementary and Brookdale Elementary, Pre-K class from Riley will be moving to Brookdale Elementary. Therefore, during the 2019-2020 school year, Brookdale Elementary will have 2 pre-k classes.

Parents who need assistance with applying online may visit the Central Office, 484 Mulberry Street, Suite 210, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday between Feb. 4-28. The office will be closed for Winter Break the week of Feb. 18-22.

Parents will be notified by email by March 15, 2019, if their child has been accepted into the District's Pre-K Program. If a child's name is not selected, his or her name will be automatically placed on the waiting list for the school to which they applied.

If a child is selected, parents will be required to provide registration documents during the on-site registration process. If registration documents are not received during this time frame, the child's Pre-K slot will be forfeited. Registration documents include:

  • Two proofs of residence (mortgage statement/lease agreement and utility bill for address of residence),

  • Child's certified birth certificate,

  • Child's Social Security card,

  • Immunization - GA form 3231 (may be turned in as soon as the child turns 4)

  • Ear, Eye, Dental and Nutrition Screening - GA form 3300 (may be turned in as soon as the child turns 4)

  • Photo ID of parent/guardian.

Also, parents must attend a scheduled orientation before the 2019-2020 school year. Pre-K teacher will contact families.

Only students that attend zoned schools are eligible for transportation through the Bibb County Board of Education.

NOTE: Pre-K is not a mandatory program.
