Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

This is the week! This is the week that many looked forward to as long ago as August 1. It’s the last week of the first semester. Pretty soon we will be in the last day of the first semester, and pretty soon after that it will be the last hour of the last day of the first semester. That’s another milestone we should celebrate because it’s an indication that our students have experienced at least one half-year of growth; that they have created new relationships and new friendships; and they have gained new learning – and in many ways, all of that is because of you. So, thank you for what you have done! Can you believe it? We have experienced Pre-Planning, New Teacher Orientation, Convocation, Labor Day Break, Fall Break, Halloween, Thanksgiving Break, School City Assessments, Max Scholar, Teacher of the Year, Get Better Faster, Leader in Me and so much more.

I have been told that we do a lot and that if you are new to our district, it’s like “whoa!” But the truth is, you do it well. And, it’s a reminder that the way we conduct our classrooms today, the way we run our school district today, is not like it was done even five years ago. You have come a long way. You are doing great work, and I hope that over the holidays you have a chance to reflect on just how great you have done, and the impact you have made on your co-workers, your students and this community.

From my family to yours, and from me to you, it’s my sincere wish that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you in 2020!
