Bibb County Afterschool Programs have been enriching students' lives for over a decade. Each site offers several specialized programs, but all focus on four core components: Educational Support, Tutoring/Mentoring, Afternoon Snack and Enrichment.
Bibb County Afterschool Programs operates in 1 Pre-K Program, 10 elementary schools, and 1 middle school serving more than 700 students. The Bibb County Afterschool Department was awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) grant in July 2014. The grant is for 5 years and involves two sites which are located at Union Elementary and Riley Elementary schools. We also received the SCANA Energy Homework program for the third year at Brookdale Elementary.
In September 2014, The afterschool department opened a fee-based afterschool program at Northwoods Academy on Pierce Avenue and in January 2015 we opened a fee-based afterschool program at Porter Elementary on School Road. We hope to open even more programs in the fall of 2015.
We are very proud of all of our programs and of our students. If you should need afterschool care for your child(ren), our programs are where they need to be. Most of our tutors are certified teachers and work in the schools where the programs take place. There is no need to have your child(ren) transported to a daycare facility when they will receive excellent homework help, tutoring, and educational enrichment in the safety of their own school.
On behalf of our children and families, thank you for your commitment and involvement. Because of your support, we are able to provide a safe place for students to learn and grow academically, physically, and socially.
